Corrigendum: Modeling crowdsourcing as collective problem solving

چکیده
This Article contains errors. In the 'Model' section, " Capacity is simply the number of iterations in which at least one collectivist has solved the task, regardless of R. It models the collective knowledge of a group, i.e., the group's capacity to solve increasingly challenging tasks. It is defined for each group, regardless of its iteration-dependent divisions into collectivists and individualists. Initially we set for all groups Σ j = 0. We update Σ j → Σ j + 1 each time at least one player playing as a collectivist solves the task (and regardless of how many individualists solve it) ". should read: " Capacity is simply the number of iterations in which one collectivist has solved the task, regardless of R. Modeling crowdsourcing as collective problem solving
Crowdsourcing is a process of accumulating the ideas, thoughts or information from many independent participants, with aim to find the best solution for a given challenge. Modern information technologies allow for massive number of subjects to be involved in a more or less spontaneous way. Still, the full potentials of crowdsourcing are yet to be reached. We introduce a modeling framework throu...
متن کاملModeling and simulating crowdsourcing as a complex biological system: human crowds manifesting collective intelligence on the internet
Crowdsourcing, a real-life instance of human collective intelligence, is a phenomenon that changes the way organizations use the Internet to collect ideas, solve complex cognitive problems, and build high-quality repositories (e.g., Wikipedia) by self-organizing agents around data and knowledge. Many recent studies have highlighted the factors and the small sets of parameters that play a role w...

Crowdsourcing as an Innovative Communication Strategy in Early Melanoma Detection
Background: Skin self-examination (SSE) is the primary method for identifying atypical moles. Unfortunately, past research has shown that SSE has low sensitivity. The current study investigates whether collective effort can improve SSE. Collective effort problem solving, or crowdsourcing, uses the intelligence of a group to make decisions; for example, contestants on game shows use collective e...
متن کاملIterated crowdsourcing dilemma game
The Internet has enabled the emergence of collective problem solving, also known as crowdsourcing, as a viable option for solving complex tasks. However, the openness of crowdsourcing presents a challenge because solutions obtained by it can be sabotaged, stolen, and manipulated at a low cost for the attacker. We extend a previously proposed crowdsourcing dilemma game to an iterated game to add...
